Germany Through to Euro 2024 Last 16 After Hungary Victory

Musiala and Gündoğan Goals Secure Progression

Germany became the first nation to reach the last 16 of Euro 2024, as goals from Jamal Musiala and Ilkay Gündoğan secured a 2-0 victory over Hungary in Group A on Wednesday.

Musiala had netted Germany's second goal in the first half, after Gündoğan had set it up. Gündoğan got on the scoresheet himself in the second half to seal the win.

Dominik Szoboszlai looked disappointed for Hungary, as he may reflect on the chances his side missed, particularly in the second half through Barnabas Vargas.

With the win, Germany advances to the knockout stage, while Hungary's hopes of progression now hang in the balance.
